Genesis

Evolution or Creation?

“How did I come to exist?” Have you ever asked this question when you were a child? Children are always asking why and how this world and human beings exist.

Many people would say that living things exist in this world through evolution. A single cell is formed from chemical elements and then changes into small living things. After that, they become bigger and more complicated, and finally all kinds of animals and plants appear in our world, including humans.

The Bible points out in Genesis that God used six creation days to create the creatures on the earth. He created: (1) light, (2) the atmosphere, (3) dry land emerging from the water and various plants, (4) various climate cycles and celestial bodies, (5) various fish and birds, and (6) various livestock, insects, beasts of the earth, and the first man and first woman.

Did all of these, including humans, come from evolution or from creation? Imagine how difficult it would be if a scientist wanted to make a robot like a human being. If he wanted this robot to have the ability to walk, run, thread needles, make tools, think independently, appreciate beauty, possess abstract thinking, wisdom, and discernment, and to feel happiness and pain—and to have self-awareness, knowing that “I exist”—do you think it would be possible? Think about how difficult it is; it is really an impossible task.

The main elements that form a human being are water (hydrogen and oxygen) plus some trace elements. In these atoms, electrons constantly and repeatedly rotate around the nucleus. Human beings are constructed from these materials. It can be said that you are built from water and that you are a transformation of water. These materials (water) construct you. Wisdom, thinking ability, feeling, and self-awareness are also constructed from these materials.

Please imagine: these elements and materials (people) know how to build a submarine to go into the deep sea and make a spacecraft to fly out of the earth. Isn’t that amazing, like magic? Did DNA and human beings come from elements “constantly colliding with each other”? Oh, we are missing the most important thing: the spiritual soul that has been given to human beings by God. This is the most important thing.

The first book of the Bible, Genesis, points out how Jehovah God created humans on the earth, and the last book of the Bible, Revelation 21:3–4, reveals that God will appear to us in the future:

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Therefore, we must have faith in God, just as Jesus Christ emphasized that we must have faith. Believe that God created the earth and mankind, believe that Jesus was sent by God, and believe that God will solve various problems for us.

Psalm 139:14 says “I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well”. We should give glory to the Creator, our loving Father, and to Jesus Christ. Amen.

There is an interesting question : Are we now on the sixth creation day, or on the seventh day of God’s rest?

If we are now on the 7th day, it means the 6th creation day has ended. Has the 6th creation day really ended? What have been created on the 6th creation day? Let’s see…

Genesis 1:24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” — Done.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man, our image, after our likeness.” — Done.

Genesis 1:30  “And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” — Not yet done.

Genesis 3:14 God says to serpent, “and dust you shall eat all the days of your life”. — Not yet done(real serpent).

But why does God say “and it was so” at the end of verse 30? That is true. All the words of God must be accomplished; that is why God said “it was so”. We know it must come true in the future, but it has not yet been done. So what does this mean? It means we are still on the sixth creation day. We have to wait for the seventh day—“God’s Rest Day” and the “Holy Day”.

God’s Rest Day

Ezekiel 20:15-16

15 Moreover, I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land that I had given them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands,

16 because they rejected my rules and did not walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.

Hebrews 4:4-5,7-9

4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

Therefore, the “7th Day” – “God’s Rest Day” will be fullfilled in the New Heaven New Earth, when New Jerusalem comes.

Micah 4:1,2

1 It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of YHWH
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
    and it shall be lifted up above the hills;
and peoples shall flow to it,

2     and many nations shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of YHWH,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.”
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of YHWH from Jerusalem.

Revelation 21:1,10,26

1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth…

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.

Ezekiel 20:40-41

40 “For on my holy mountain, the mountain height of Israel, declares the Lord God, there all the house of Israel, all of them, shall serve me in the land. There I will accept them, and there I will require your contributions and the choicest of your gifts, with all your sacred offerings.

41 As a pleasing aroma I will accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered. And I will manifest my holiness among you in the sight of the nations.

Isaiah 25:6-8

6 On this mountain YHWH of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.

7 And he will swallow up on this mountain
the covering that is cast over all peoples,
the veil that is spread over all nations.

8     He will swallow up death forever;
and YHWH God will wipe away tears from all faces,
and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
    for YHWH has spoken.

Finally, Genesis 1:30 will be fulfilled. And the sixth day will end, the 7th Day – Rest Day will come.

Isaiah 65:25

25 The wolf and the lamb shall graze together;
the lion shall eat straw like the ox,
and dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt or destroy
    in all my holy mountain,”
says YHWH.

Genesis 1:30  And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” — will completely done.

Genesis 3:14 God says to serpent, “and dust you shall eat all the days of your life”. — will completely done.

Genesis 2:2,3

2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

The 7th creation day is related to the Revelation of <New Heaven New Earth> and <New Jerusalem>.

At that time we can enter and enjoy God’s Rest Day. Amen.
