Two Witnesses
After the vision of rainbow angel, apostle John was told about the temple and two witnesses…
Revelation 11:1,2 “Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, 2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city(Jerusalem) for forty-two months.”
He was told to measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship. What does it mean? Also he shall count those who worship there. Which temple did he measure? For the sanctuary had been destroyed at AD70, so God told him to measure was not that temple. Then what is it?
1 Corinthians 3:16,17
“Do you not know that you(saints) are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you(saints) are that temple.”
So the 144000 saints are the temple of God(New Jerusalem), and when the sixth trumpet sounded all 144000 saints are sealed complete. That’s why God told John to measure the temple and count those worship there, make sure all 144000 saints are there, all of them have been sealed.
But other God’s people no need to measure or count them because they are “a great multitude” that no one could number, the beast will trample the holy city for forty-two months(symbolic meaning) from AD70 to the End Day. Please read <The Greatest Top Tree and 7 Periods>.
This vision shows us all 144000 saints are sealed complete, then the 1260 days and 42 months will be ended in the sixth trumpet period. Let’s see more verses of Revelation chapter 11…
Rev. 11:3,4
3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
4 These are the “two olive trees” and the “two lampstands” that stand before the Lord of the earth.
Jehovah God said he gave authority to the two witnesses prophesy 1260 days, what does it mean? The “two witnesses” means the two olive trees and two lampstands. Jesus told us the lampstand represent Church, so “two witnesses” represent two Churches or two olive trees(tree means big organization), they witness and testimony Jesus and prophesy 1260 days. It is also the mystery of “a time, times, and half a time”. But in Revelation chapter 2 and 3, didn’t Jesus say that there should be seven churches witnessing for him, why 11:3 says only two witnesses(two churches) prophesy 1260 days, how about the another five churches? Are they no need to witness Jesus? Please read <Seven churches and Seven Stars> you will know why.
God gave a great power to them, Rev. 11:5,6
5 And if anyone would harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, this is how he is doomed to be killed.
6 They have the power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire.
Why we can say that “1260 days” and “42 months” is ended during the sixth trumpet period? Because they have finished the testimony and killed by the beast before the end of sixth trumpet period…
Rev. 11:7-10
7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,
8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.
9 For three and a half days some from the peoples and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and refuse to let them be placed in a tomb,
10 and those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and exchange presents, because these two prophets had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth.
The beast will make war on them(two lampstands-two churches) and kill them. What does “the beast” mean? This beast is the little horn of the fourth beast, the fourth beast of Daniel vision in chapter 7. Please read <Four Great Beasts>.
Daniel 7:21,22,25
21 As I looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them,
22 until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints possessed the kingdom.
25 He shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
and shall think to change the times and the law;
and they shall be given into his hand
for a time, times, and half a time.
But why God said the beast “rises from the bottomless pit”? Let’s wait, we will explain this in chapter 13 of Revelation later. And what does it mean “the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt”? What city? Surely, it should be “Babylon the great”, why we can say that?
Rev. 17:3-6
3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.”
6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.
So the great city is called Sodom and Egypt, Sodom means “sexual immorality“, and Egypt means “abominations” – military force makes desolate. But why did God use Sodom and Egypt as symbol of sexual immorality and “the abomination” – military force? Because the Sodom was the “first one” who was the “sexual immorality” city, and Egypt was the “first one” who was “the abomination” – military force of desolation. That’s why it became the symbol that God used.
Two witnesses will lie on the “street” of the great city and this “street” is also as the symbol of “sexual immorality” and “abominations” – military force. What does this “street” represents actually? We can say it should be the US, why? Because US(Egypt symbolized) is symbolized the little horn, the most “abominations” of military force of the world, and US(Sodom symbolized) is also promoting sexual immorality, homosexuality, transgender, LGBT+….
But now we have no idea how these two witnesses(two churches) be killed, they will be killed three and half days. Maybe it means they will be killed three and half years, or actually three and half days, not sure and then…
Rev. 11:11,12
11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.
12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.
What will happen of the two witnesses? Some churches use “Rapture” this terms to define it. What’s about that? Let’s see what apostle Paul said.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet(the trumpet of Revelation). For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Also Matthew 24:39-41 Jesus said,
39…so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left.
These two witnesses will be taken to the heaven, maybe it means they will be killed at the end of sixth trumpet period, and they will be “Rapture” when the last trumpet sounded. Their “enemies” watched them, maybe “their enemies” means the Red Dragon and the evil spirits watched them. But most of people will not know it has happened, is there any sign for God’s people to know it has happened?
Rev. 11:13
13 And “at that hour” there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
A sign will be occurred that let God’s people to know it is happened. That will be a great earthquake and a tenth of the city will fell. Maybe it occurs in US and there will be seven thousand people died at this earthquake. It will be the sign to let us know the two witnesses are caught up to the heaven, “at that hour” means the “ten horns” remain “one hour” and will be destroyed very quick. May we all(the rest)give glory to the God of heaven. Amen.
Rev. 11:14 “The second woe has passed; behold, the third woe is soon to come”. So during the sixth trumpet period(the second woe), all 144000 saints are sealed. The Great Tribulation will come, twice ten thousand times ten thousand mounted troops will kill a third of people. The angel with rainbow will show us the prophesy about many peoples and nations and languages and kings. Two witnesses(Churches) finished witnessing of Jesus and God’s word 1260 days. At the end of the sixth trumpet, 144000 saints will resurrect and meet our lord Jesus in the cloud, and be the God’s kingdom forever. Then the second woe(sixth trumpet) will pass away.
Then the seventh angel blew <The seventh trumpet>…
