Seven Seals
Now the seven seals are opened, firstly Jesus opened one to six seals in one go. But before we revelate it, we have to take a look about Israelite left Egypt and enter the Promised Land. That is related to seven seals. What happened to them and how did they enter the Promised Land? Why are they related to the seven seals? Let’s see…
Please read another article “Revelation” which is the overview of the Revelation, you will know the background about opening the six seals meaning. Before Israelite entered the Promised Land, they lived in the wilderness 40 years. How many people of them? Estimated 2-3 millions. In that 40 years, maybe they moved back and forth the red area cyclically. You can see the picture below, maybe it was their moving route.
During the 40 years, they walked around and around the red marked area before they entered the Promised Land. After the 40 years in the wilderness passed, they began to enter the Promised Land. The Fallen of Jericho City became a sign which marked they entered Promised Land officially.
Is there any relationship with the Seven Seals? Yes. Before Israelite went to the wilderness, a lamb had been slain for the symbol of the salvation, it symbolic the salvation of Jesus(Rev. 5:6 the slain Lamb). During the 40 years, Israelite moved around and around of the wilderness, it has a symbolic meaning which symbolic the period of “Six Seals”.
Matthew 24:3 “As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus’ disciples also asked him an question about the sign of his coming and the End Day, Jesus told them what would happen in this period before he come back. What did he say?
Matthew 24:6-9 Jesus said, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but ‘the beginning‘ of the birth pains”.
Actually, Jesus was talking about the four horses of Revelation, and he said it was ‘only the beginning’.
Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”.
“the beginning” started from AD70, and Jesus was talking about the witnessing period of “1260 days” and “a time, times, and half a time” and 2 witnesses. When this period end, the End Day and the great tribulation will be come.
Probably the four horses need to run 7 times from AD 70 till to the End Day, from the first seal to the seventh seal. Maybe when the each star of 7 churches appeared, the four horses will run a time.
So same as Israelite walked cyclically until the “40 years” ended, and then began to enter the Promised Land; it symbolic the first to the sixth seals period which from AD70 to the End Day. This is a long and unknown period(only God knows). How about the seventh seal?
Before Israelite entering the Promised Land, they attacked the Jericho(symbolic the seventh seal opened). Seven priests “blew trumpets 7 days”, this symbolizes “blow 7 trumpets” in Revelation chapter 8-11. The seventh day, which symbolize the seventh trumpet of Revelation. And priests blew the trumpets “seven times”, which symbolize the seven bowls. So when the 7th trumpet sounded, “seven bowls” has to pour out.
When the Jericho fallen down, and then Israelites were entered the Promised Land officially. This symbolic when the seventh seal opened, Babylon the great will fall down and then God’s people enter the New Heaven and New Earth officially. The process of the Israelites entering the Promised Land coincides perfectly with the seven seals. That’s why we say it symbolic the seven seals. We believe it was God used to symbolic the seven seals, and the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 will be accomplished.
In Hebrews chapter 3 and 4, Apostle Paul also said the 40 years of wilderness and the rest day in ancient Israel had a symbolic meaning. What did he say?
Hebrews 3:7-10
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.’
Hebrews 3: 16-19
16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:1,7-9
1 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest ‘still stands‘, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.
7 again he appoints a ‘certain day‘, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there ‘remains a Sabbath rest‘ for ‘the people of God‘,
So there ‘remains‘ a Sabbath rest for the people of God is the New Heaven and New Earth which for God’s people. If we say the slain lamb is the symbol which symbolic Jesus, then the forty years in wilderness should also the symbol, it symbolizes the period from the lamb(Jesus) killed till to the New Heaven and New Earth(Promised Land). So that’s why Paul said it has another certain day ‘Today‘, which is another ‘rest of God‘, and also that’s why we say the forty years of wilderness has the symbolic meaning.
What does it mean of the scroll is sealed? Why God used the sealed scroll to symbolic it? It means no one can open it and know the sealed message, except Jesus. Jesus who has conquered and can open the sealed scroll. He can reveal the messgae of the sealed scroll to his servants.
Now let’s open the seals…
The First Seal
Rev. 6:1 Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!”
2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.
The white horse rider had a bow and a crown. Who is the rider? He is Jesus Christ. He came out conquering, and to conquer. It’s also related to “Seven Churches and Seven Stars” and “Seven Churches Period“, “Seventy Sevens-Seventy Weeks” and “Four Great Beasts“, please read it.
All the articles show us the symbolized period “1260 days” , seven churches period , “a time, times, and half a time” and “Forty-Two months” are the same period, also related to the seven seals period.
If you read “Seven Churches Period“, you will find out Jesus told every churches at the ending “the one who conquers…”. That means in the seven churches period, Jesus will help seven churches to conquer, and he is “conquering, and to conquer”. “Conquering” means not only once but many times, maybe at least 7 times, and conquer to be continuously again and again till to the end. Matthew 28:20 “…And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”.
The Second Seal
3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
4 And out came another horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.
What does the red horse mean? it was given a great sword and permitted to take peace from earth, people slay one another. So it means wars. Disciples asked Jesus in Matthew chapter 24, “what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?
In Matthew 24:6,7 Jesus said, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…”. So the second seal-the red horse means the war, and it will slay many people.
Jesus said it was only the beginning, that means it would hold a long time, started from the 1st century till to the End Day. Matthew 24:8 “All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.”
The Third Seal
5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand.
6 And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!”
So the black horse of third seal means famines, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!”. Matthew 28:7 “…and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places”, and it will be take place continuously till to the End Day.
The Fourth Seal
7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.
The pale horse of fourth seal means death(Hades), they were given authority to kill over a fourth people by sword, famine, pestilence and beasts(political beast).
Luke 21:9-11 “And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.10 Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences.”
YHWH God used 4 horses as the symbol means they belong to the same group. They run around and around means wars, famines, pestilences and death will occur repeatedly from the 1st century till to the End Day, and Jesus Christ would conquer and to conquer ; As same as the Israelites walked around in the wilderness repeatedly.
It seems when each star of the 7 Churches(Rev. chapter 2-3) appear, the four horses will come and run around once. Therefore in our history, there were many times of serious and widespread wars, famines, pestilence and death occurred. The white horse(Jesus) shall to conquer finally. That’s why Jesus said 7 times “The one who conquers…” to the 7 churches at the ending.
The Fifth Seal
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.
10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
11 Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
When the fifth seal opened, whose witnessing for the word of God cried out “When will you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” What did God say?
He said they have to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers all complete(complete sealed). So they have to wait until the number of their brothers complete, how many brothers? Revelation 7:4 gives us the answer “144000”.
So started from 1st century, God’s servants have to witnessing God’s word, till to the last one of 144000, then the End Day will come and also the Judgment Day will come. This is <two witnessess> period and also the “1260 days”, “a time, times, and half a time” and “42 months” period.
The Sixth Seal
12 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood,
13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit(unripe figs) when shaken by a gale.
14 The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
15 Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,
16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,
17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”
When Jesus opened the sixth seal, “there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth”… What did it mean?
It was related to the heaven, it was about the old heaven. Revelation 12:5 says the heavenly woman, “She gave birth to a male child(Jesus), one who is to rule all the nations…her child was caught up to God and to his throne…”.
Revelation 12:7-9 “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him“.
Revelation 12:4 “ His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth.“
Revelation 12:10 “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come.”
Revelation 12:12 “Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
After Jesus back to the heaven, the great red dragon and a third of stars were defeated. They were thrown down on earth, so Revelation 6:12-14 says, “the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the unripe figs(maybe that means those a third of angels were the young ones, not mature enough, they were deceived by Satan too)”.
When they were thrown down to the earth, the heavens were rejoiced, that means “The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up”, the old heaven was gone and replaced by the New heaven. And “the sun became black, the full moon became like blood”, “every mountain and island was removed from its place”, actually it will be happened and fulfilled in the great tribulation.
And the old earth will be replaced by New Earth too. “The kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains”. Figuratively, from the 1st century they were calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb”. When “the great day of their wrath has come”, they cannot hid any more, the old earth shall be destroyed and the old political system will be destroyed too.
So the six seals were opened after the AD 70. Firstly was the four seals, the four horses started to run till to the End Day. Then the fifth seal opened, God’s servants was being killed, they need to wait until sealing the 144000 saints complete.
And then the sixth seal opened, the great red dragon and a third of heaven stars were thrown down onto the earth. The kings, the great ones, the generals… calling the mountains and rocks hiding themselves figuratively. They were hiding and waiting the great day(The End Day) come.
So the six seals symbolise the period from AD 70 till to the End Day, like the period of Israelites left Egypt to the day attacked the Jericho. How about the seventh seal? The seventh seal means the End Day, but before opening the seventh seal, let’s see 144000 and a great multitude first.

besides me there is no God;” – Isaiah 45:5
“Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, YHWH?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none besides me.” – Isaiah 45:21
” remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose,’” – Isaiah 46:9,10
For you had saved your people Israelites left Egypt and enter the Promised Land, it is the symbol which let us know your will. No one can declare what will happen except You, and you have declared the ending from the beginning, from ancient times. May we all Worship and Praise Jehovah God our heavenly Father. Amen. We faith in you and know that you shall accomplish your will.
May we all give Honor, Praise, Worship and Glory to our Heavenly Father Jehovah God. Amen.
“Turn to YHWH God and be saved,
all the ends of the earth!
For (YHWH is the only) God, and there is no other.
‘To him every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.”
