Prayer for “Jerusalem”
Daniel 9:1,2 says, “In the first year(522 BC) of Darius the son of Ahasuerus… 2 … I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years that, according to the word of YHWH to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass before the end of the desolations of “Jerusalem”, namely, seventy years”.
Daniel knew the 70 years the end of desolation of Jerusalem was near…
4 I prayed to YHWH my God and made confession, saying, “O YHWH, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 5 we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules…
16 O YHWH, according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy hill…
17 Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O YHWH, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate…
While Daniel was praying, presenting pleas for the Jerusalem, angel Gabriel came in swift flight, he said “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding. 23 At the beginning of your pleas for mercy, “a word” “went out”, and I have come to tell it(a word) to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider “the word” and understand the vision.”
He continued… 24 Seventy sevens are decreed… 25 Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the “word” to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be “seven sevens”. Then for “sixty-two sevens” it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.
26 And after the “sixty-two sevens”, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end(the end of Seventy Sevens) shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. 27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for “one seven”, and for “half of the seven” he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.
The purpose of Seventy-Weeks vision
What is the purpose of Seventy Weeks? What is it about?
Daniel was asking for the end of the desolations of Jerusalem and asking God’s face shine upon Jerusalem, then the “Seventy Sevens” was announced by angel Gabriel. Therefore the purpose of Seventy Sevens is about the rebuild of “Jerusalem”. After the period ends, the rebuild will be finished, the newly Jerusalem will achieve the following goals :
- finish the transgression
- put an end to sin
- atone for iniquity
- bring in everlasting righteousness
- seal both vision and prophet
- anoint a most holy place
So we expect… When the Seventy Weeks ends, rebuilding “Jerusalem” will be finished and also the above “6 goals will be achieved” too! Let see the Seventy Weeks now…
Explanations of “word” and “Seventy Weeks”
What does it mean of this prophecy? When did it start? What does a “word” mean? When did a “word” going out? It’s the key point of “Seventy Weeks”, it has sealed until the End Day come. There are 2 mainly explanation of “Seventy Weeks”, firstly let’s see…
Explanation 1
There are many explanations of this prophecy. One is : “word” means it came from Artaxerxes I(BC 445), and then Jerusalem was started to restore and rebuild. But I have to say “restore and build Jerusalem” had started long time ago before Artaxerxes I, so “Seventy Weeks” must be counted before BC 445.
And the last “one Week” is so complicated and confusing. One explanation is after the 69 weeks, there would be a long unknown period(someone define it the “Church period”) to separate the “69 Weeks” and the “one Week”, this unknown period is about 2000 years till now. After this unknown period, the final “one Week” year will be occurred, it will be “the End Day”.
But there is no biblical verse to support the final “One Week” is separated with the “69 Weeks”, otherwise how can God says is “Seventy Weeks”? For it has separated for a long time(about 2000 years). If so, God can directly says it has 2 period, “69 Weeks” and “one Week”, isn’t it much more clear? No need to say “Seventy Weeks” for it is not a continuous timeline. Actually, we can say the 2000 years “unknown church period” is the final 3.5 period of “One Week”, we will explain later.
On the other hand, as you know the sanctuary of Jerusalem has already destroyed in AD70 and not existing till now, how can it be destroyed again? Does God need to “rebuild” it before “One Week”, and destroy it again in “half of One Week”(3.5 years)? And before the end of “One Week”, “build” Jerusalem again once more to achieve 6 goals? Is it strangeness and does not make sense? Why is need to rebuild and destroy Jerusalem and then rebuild again during that short time -7 years?
Moreover Gabriel said the “prince” would make a strong covenant with many within “one Week”, and then “destroy the city and the sanctuary” in the “half of Week” to “put an end to sacrifice and offering”. AD 70 was the year of Jerusalem destroyed, so that it indicates AD 70 is the “half of one Week”. That means the final “One Week” is already occurred and has passed a half, not in the unknown future.
Jesus began to make the “New Covenant” with many before his sacrifice(Matthew 26:26-29, Luke 22:29,30). If someone says “One Week” is not yet come, that means the “New Covenant” is not yet made by Jesus. If someone says “One Week” was ended in AD36, that means the “New Covenant” was also ended in AD36. As you know both are not true. So explanation 1 does not match the prophecy of “Seventy Weeks”.
Explanation 2
Another explanation is “One Week” means 7 years of AD30 to AD36. In AD30 Jesus (an anointed one) baptized(Anointed by Holy Spirit) and preach God’s kingdom 3.5 years, and then killed by Jewish in AD 33. So the explanation 2 is like this : The final “One Week” starts in AD30, and AD33 is the half(3.5) of final “one Week”. Before the night Jesus died, he made covenant of God’s Kingdom with apostles. “He(Jesus) shall make a strong covenant with many for one Week”, the “Seventy Weeks” ended in AD 36 officially.
Jesus “made covenant with many within one Week” started from AD33 is correct. But I want to say, it “did not match” the destroyed time(half of One Week – 3.5) of Jerusalem also, for it was destroyed in AD 70 not AD 33.
Another reason is this prophecy has not fulfilled completely in AD36, the 6 goals should be achieved completely when the “Seventy Weeks” is ended. Even today we are still waiting “to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place”.
So it proves that AD 33 is not the half of “One Week”, and also AD 36 cannot be the end of the “Seventy Weeks”. The end of “Seventy Weeks” should be much longer.
Meaning of the “Word”
Firstly, when did the vision “Seventy Weeks” begin? When did the “word” go out? Whom was the “word” come from?
Actually people say there were 3 times of the command(“word”) issued for rebuilding Jerusalem. They were Cyrus in 538 BC, Darius I in 522 BC and Artaxerxes in 445 BC. Then it makes us confused, for God did not tell us the “word” come from which king, then how can we confirm the beginning time of “Seventy Weeks”?
It is the key point for counting “Seventy Weeks”. If the “word” came from one of those kings, God should mentioned in the Bible, as same as God told us Babylon was destroyed by the king “Cyrus”, but no verse can proves directly it comes from which king.
“word” – From whom?
Firstly, let’s see what Bible itself says about a “word”, “word” was come from whom… Daniel 9:23
Gabriel said :
“At the beginning”… – At the beginning while Daniel was praying…
“a word went out”… – At the beginning while Daniel was praying, a “word” had come out…
“I have come to tell it(word) to you… Therefore “consider” the “word” and(then you will) understand the vision…” – At the beginning while Daniel was praying, a “word” come out (word has already come out, not Cyrus, Darius I or Artaxerxes)…
Therefore Gabriel said clearly, “word” was from “YHWH God”. That’s the reason why Gabriel come, he come to “tell” Daniel about God’s plan – Seventy Weeks for rebuilding Jerusalem.
Once again, what does Daniel 9:23 actually mean? It means : God’s “word” “has come out”, I(Gabriel) have to tell “it“(word) to you. From “now” on, there shall be “Seventy Weeks”…
Clearly, “word” does not mean of Cyrus, Darius I or Artaxerxes, but Bible directly says “word” was outgoing from “God”. And we are sure that it came from God, not from other not mentioned king. Isaiah 44:26,28 also proved that the “word” of rebuilding Jerusalem was saying of God…
Isaiah 44:26,28
26 …who says of Jerusalem , ‘She shall be inhabited,’
and of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built,
and I (YHWH) will raise up their ruins’; -> (who says rebuild Jerusalem? -> YHWH)
28 who says of Cyrus , ‘He is my shepherd,
and he shall fulfill all my purpose’;
saying of Jerusalem , ‘She shall be built,’
and of the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’” ; (words come from whom? -> YHWH God)
When did God’s Word come out?
When God’s word came out(BC 522 first year of Darius), the Jerusalem and sanctuary began to restore and rebuild next year officially. There are 2 witnesses can prove that, they are prophet Haggai and Zechariah. Let’s see what did they say.
1 In the “Second year“(BC 521) of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month…
8 Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says YHWH.
14 And YHWH stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel… And they came and worked on the house of YHWH of hosts, their God,
15 on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the “Second year” of Darius… – Haggai 1:1,8,14,15 says,
Consider from this “day” onward(second year), from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of YHWH’s temple was laid, consider: – Haggai 2:18
Haggai told us consider the “day” – the day of foundation of temple was laid. So he proved that rebuilding of Jehovah God’s temple was started the next year of God’s word came out, the second year of Darius, the foundation was laid in ninth month 24 and that day marked as the rebuilding Jerusalem project was officially launched.
Another witness the prophet Zechariah says,
On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the “second year“(BC 521) of Darius…16 Therefore, thus says YHWH… “my house” shall be built in it, declares YHWH of hosts, and the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem. – Zechariah1:7,16
Thus says YHWH of hosts: “Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of YHWH of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.” – Zechariah 8:9
Zechariah also proved that after 2 months of the foundation, it started measuring the Jerusalem. So the 2 witnesses proved that after God’s “word” was come out in the first year of Darius, and then the restore and rebuild Jerusalem started, also the foundation had been laid in the “second year” of Darius. So 2 witnesses prove “Seventy Weeks” started at BC 522.
Seventy Weeks – Symbolic period
But there is a critical and confused problem, that is from God’s word come out(BC 522) to the Anointed one appeared(AD 30) is 551 years(no zero year), this period has exceeded 490 years(70 x 7), and the vision has not fulfilled completely even today(over 2500 years). Also the history shows us Seventy Weeks is not exactly match the timeline of Jerusalem rebuild. Then what does it mean? Does God’s prophecy fail? What does it tell us?
It tells us Seventy Weeks “must not be” real number, it is not real 490 years(70 x 7 years). If it is not real number(years), then it must be a “symbolic” period. Is it really like this? Does it surprise you? Shouldn’t be, because most of God’s prophecy are symbolic like Daniel’s dreams and the Revelation.
The above outcome 490 years is based on people’s wrong assumption. They assume 7 = 7 years, so Seventy Weeks will be 490 years, but God did not say “Week” mean 7 days or 7 years. Just like the 6 creation days, for each “day” is a symbolic period to achieve God’s goal, not the real 24 hours a day, as you know God is not live on Earth and there is no “day” concept in Heaven. Therefore Seventy Weeks must means a symbolic period achieving God’s goal.
Moreover God says that when rebuild Jerusalem is complete, six goals must be achieved. Did six goals has achieved? No, therefore we are sure that Jerusalem is still on building, “Seventy Weeks” period not yet complete but soon.
Then what does “Seventy Sevens” or “Seventy Weeks” really mean? What is the timeline of Seventy Weeks? Let’s see… This vision is very interesting but also confusing, may God send Angel Gabriel give us insight to understanding it.
Seventy Weeks – 2 parts
First ly, “Seventy Weeks” is combined with 2 parts.
The first part is a (69@7) symbolic period divided into 2 portions,
“Seven Weeks” (7@7) and “Sixty-Two Weeks” (62@7) ;
The second part is One Week(1@7) symbolic period, and this “7” is also divided into 2 portions,
“3.5” and “3.5” (half and half).
Seven Weeks
The first part is the symbolized “Sixty-nine Weeks“, this period shall “restore and build Jerusalem”.
Firstly is the “Seven Weeks” symbolic period. Why does God define this period “7 @ 7”? Maybe restored and rebuilt Jerusalem on earth used 49 years, so God use this key point (7@7) to symbolize it.
Sixty-Two Weeks
And then was “Sixty-two Weeks”(62@7), Jerusalem “shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time”, and “waited for” an anointed one to appear. After finished the rebuild of Jerusalem with squares and moat, they have to wait for the anointed one to appear. Let’s see how they rebuilt in this period…
Nehemiah 2:1,5 “In the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes(about BC 445)…5 And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ graves, that I may rebuild it.”
Nehemiah 4:16-18 “From that day on, half of my servants worked on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail. And the leaders stood behind the whole house of Judah, 17 who were building on the wall. Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other. 18 And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built. The man who sounded the trumpet was beside me.”
At that time was really “a troubled time“, half of them worked on construction and half of them held the spears, shields…
So restore and rebuild Jerusalem and then “wait” for the anointed total used “Sixty-Nine Weeks”. Again, this period does not mean the real 483 years, it is only used to symbolic the plan of God. If you study the history of Jerusalem, you will find that the rebuild of earthly Jerusalem does not match 490 years, that’s why Seventy Weeks should be a symbolic period. So God used (7 @ 7) and (62 @ 7) marks 2 key main stages of this symbolic period.
The Anointed One
After “Sixty-nine Weeks”, the anointed(Messiah) appeared. Who is the anointed?
John 4:25,26 says ‘The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ).” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he”’. Yes, Jesus whom is the anointed one(Messiah).
“…when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form(“anointed him”), like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son(“a Prince”); with you I am well pleased.” 23 Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age…” – Luke 3:21-23
Holy Spirit anointed Jesus when he got baptized at 30 years old, at that time “an anointed one appear” was fulfilled. So “AD 30” was the end of the symbolized “Sixty-nine Weeks” period, also the beginning of “One Week” symbolized period.
The anointed one “shall be cut off and shall have nothing”. After ministry three and half(3.5) years, Jesus was killed by Jew. Matthew 27:50,51 says “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom”.
First half(3.5) of One Week
What is used to symbolic the first half(3.5) of “One Week”?
We can say Jesus’ 3.5 years witnessing period is used to symbolic the “first half” of one Week. Why did Jesus not preach 3, 5, 10 or even 20 years but “3.5” years? So it tells us that “3.5” has a special meaning, related to the “anointed one” period(a half of one Week), so God particularly uses 3.5 to symbolic the first half of “one Week”.
When Jesus completed the 3.5 years ministry and sacrificed, he has achieved the goal of “first half” of One Week. And “the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom” symbolic Jerusalem and sanctuary will be destroyed in “half of One Week”, the actual year was AD70.
So the actual timeline of the first part of “One Week”(3.5) began at AD 30, the anointed(Jesus) appeared, ended at AD70(Jerusalem destroyed). AD 70 was the “half” of One Week, it indicates the end of the first half(3.5) of “One Week”, and also the beginning of second half(3.5).
So from AD 30 to AD 70 this 40 years was the actual timeline of the first half(3.5) symbolized period. And does AD 70 really is the half of “1@7”?
AD 70 – half of “1@7”
Which year is the half of “1@7”? Does AD 70 really means the half of final “One Week”? Who can prove AD 70 is the half of “One Week”?
Lord Jesus, yes! What did he say?
Matthew 24:15,16
15 So when you see the abomination of desolation(Seventy Weeks vision) spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand —> the “half” of One Week), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains…. (because the city-Jerusalem and the sanctuary will be destroyed)
Therefore the above Jesus indisputable evidences and the history both prove that the final “One Week” was occurred in AD 70, not the End Day. Obviously “Seventy Weeks” is a continuously timeline, no an unknown period separate 69th and 70th Week. Jesus proved that AD 70 is the half of One Week, for the abomination destroy Jerusalem was fullfilled, “he who has ears, let him hear”.
And then… Seventy Weeks was completed… finished? But how about the another half(3.5) of “1@7”? Will something happen in another “3.5”? What is its’ actual timeline? How long of it? What is used to symbolic? It seems this vision is missing the “final piece” of puzzle.
Second half(3.5) of One Week
But Angel Gabriel didn’t provide us more information about final piece of “One Week”. Then how could we know it? It is very interesting and exciting, we have waited a long time for God to reveal it.
Now, maybe it’s the time for God to reveal it, for our time is the final period of the End Day. Let us ask some questions : What is “a time, times, and half a time”? What is “1,260 days”? What is “forty-two months”? Are they relate to the final half(3.5) of One Week?
Let’s see…
Daniel 12:6,7,11
6 And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?
7 …he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven… for “a time, times, and half a time”, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people(saints) comes to an end all these things would be “finished”.
11 And “from” the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away(AD70) and the abomination that makes desolate is set up(AD 70)…
So from “the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away(AD 70)”, there will be “a time, times, and half a time”. “When the shattering of the power of the holy people(saints) comes to an end all these things would be finished“, then “a time, times, and half a time” will be end, the End Day will come; Jesus will come again!
It relates to “holy people” – “saints”, God’s judgement will come after the end of final “3.5” symbolized period.
He(the 4th beast) shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the “saints” of the Most High,
and shall think to change the times and the law;
and they(saints) shall be given into his hand
for “a time, times, and half a time”. – Daniel 7:25
“But the “saints” of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.” – Daniel 7:18
The beast shall wear out saints for “a time, times, and half a time”, when 3.5 periods is ended, God will judge the beast and destroy it, it will be the End Day, God’s Kingdom will give to Saints. So that’s why <Seven Churches and Seven Stars> and <Two Witnesses> appear in the Revelation, it tells us why this period calls “a time, times, and half a time” and what does it mean or refer to.
“a time, times, and half a time” – Two churches / Two witnesses
Those holy people have work to do, that is their ministry hold testimony of Jesus. How long of their witnessing period?
“And I will grant authority to my “two witnesses“, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth” – Revelation11:3,4
Same as Jesus’ witnessing 3.5 years, two witnesses witnessing 3.5 years(a time, times, and half a time), it is used to symbolic the final half of “One Week”. Two witnesses are two lampstands, and two lampstands are two churches, “a time, times, and half a time” – “3.5” is the <two witnesses> and <Seven Churches and Seven Stars> period, please read it and you will know this mystery.
“a time, times, half a time” is equal to three and half years(3.5), this 3.5 is used to symbolic the second half of “One Week”. So if we combine it to the first half period(symbolized by Jesus 3.5 years ministry), then the final “One Week” will be complete, just like putting in the last piece of a puzzle, then the total “Seventy Weeks” will be complete.
But why we say holy people is the last part(3.5) and adding into “1@7”? Is there any relationship with the “Seventy Weeks”?
New Jerusalem – God’s living place
Because this vision is about “your people(Holy people) and your holy city(Jerusalem)”. What will be the New Jerusalem consist of? Yes, it consists of Jesus and the holy people(144000 saints).
As you know, what is the most important of a city? The physcial building surely is very important, but “what people” living in the city is much more significant, for they are directing its’ operation. Holy people(Saints) are the main part of New Jerusalem, that’s why this part must be added into “Seventy Weeks” of rebuilding Jerusalem.
When the prophecy of rebuild Jerusalem is complete, Jerusalem will be given a “new” name, its’ new name will be “New Jerusalem”.
“And I saw the holy city, “New Jerusalem“, coming down out of heaven from God…” – Revelation 21:2
Isaiah 62:1,2
1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and “for Jerusalem’s sake” I will not be quiet,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.
2 The nations shall see your righteousness,
and all the kings your glory,
and you shall be called by a “new name” (New Jerusalem)
that the mouth of YHWH will give.
Rev. 21:10-12,14, “And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the “holy city Jerusalem” coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel… and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed.14 And the wall of the city had “twelve foundations”, and on them were the twelve names of the “twelve apostles” of the Lamb.”
Yes, the holy people living in the holy city – new Jerusalem is 144000 saints. When the final symbolized 3.5 (a time, times, and half a time) period is ended, “Seventy Weeks” vision will be fulfilled completely. When “Seventy Weeks” is ended, it will be the God’s Day(the End Day), and 6 goals “finish the transgression, to put an end to sin… and to anoint a most holy place” will be achieved. When the building is complete(Bride is ready), New Jerusalem will come down from heaven… Thank you Father, Glory and Praise Father and Lord Jesus. Amen.
Seal until the time of the End – End of “One Week”
What is the actual timeline of “One Week”? The first “3.5” was from AD 30 to AD 70 total 40 years.
But how long about the another “3.5”? We know it started from AD70, till to the End Day, lasted about 2000 years now. When will be its end? Matthew 24:36 says, “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only”. Actually no one knows the end date of the symbolized “3.5” period except Father, so we can’t point it out on the timeline table.
Although we don’t know the exact end date but we are sure if “this mission” is finished, then the final “3.5” of shall be ended. What is “this mission”?
“After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun… 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, “until” we “have sealed” the servants of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I heard the number of the sealed, “144,000”” – Revelation 7:1-4
So when the “last” saint has been sealed, the final “3.5” will be end. That’s why the final “3.5” is so long. God Father needs to wait all His sons(144000) have been sealed, and only Father God knows who is His last son. And that’s why no one knows the date of End Day except Father, also why Jesus not yet come so long.
That is to say, makes it end of the final “3.5” is all 144000 saints have sealed complete, then “the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them”, after that the End Day will come, also Jesus will come!
Timeline of Seventy Weeks
All above evidence proves that “Seventy Weeks” is the symbolized period, when we put the last piece of “3.5” (a time, times, and half a time) into “One Week”, then “Seventy Weeks” will be complete.

1. God’s “word” came out(522BC), “Seventy Weeks” began. Firstly was “7@7” symbolic period and then “62@7” symbolic period, and wait for the anointed one. “69@7” actual timeline is from 522BC to AD30.
2. In AD 30, the anointed one(Jesus) appeared. The “69@7” symbolic period ended, the symbolic “1@7” period began. “1@7” actual timeline is from AD30 till to the End Day.
3. Jesus’ 3.5 years ministry symbolic the first “3.5” of “1@7”. Jesus made “covenant with many” for “1@7”. First “3.5” actual timeline is from AD30 to AD70.
4. AD 70, Jerusalem and Sanctuary destroyed, that year was marked as the “half” of the One Week, the first “3.5” ended, and the other “3.5” began.
5. From AD 70 till to the End Day, the final “3.5” symbolized period ; “a time, times, and half a time” : holy people(144000) were being sealed during this period. It is the period of “sowed the wheat(sons of the kingdom) growing in the field”.
6. In AD ??? , the last saint of 144000 is sealed, “3.5”(a time, times, and half a time) is ended, “1@7” complete, and the “70@7” is also completed and finished.
Assumption
Let’s think “Seventy Weeks” this prophecy about rebuilding the holy city, it is not only the Jerusalem on earth, but also the “New Jerusalem” in heaven. Why?
Because New Jerusalem will come down from the Heaven, but before the New Jerusalem come down, you can imagine it has to finish the “building”. So maybe this vision is also about the building of New Jerusalem(the real Holy City) in heaven. Actually we can say “Seventy Weeks” is mainly for rebuilding the “New Jerusalem” in heaven, why can we say that?
Because only New Jerusalem can achieve those 6 goals, the earthly Jerusalem couldn’t achieve them. If the earthly Jerusalem can bring the everlasting righteousness… Why need to destroy it? If the earthly Jerusalem has destroyed and not existed, then how could it make sure the righteousness can last forever? On the other hand, if earthly Jerusalem could achieved those 6 goals, why has to need a “New Jerusalem”?
If we put “Seventy Weeks” to the earthly Jerusalem, you will find it seems something wrong and does not match history, timing, events… etc fitly, just like you have to hardly straighten the bent iron. But if we put “Seventy Weeks” to heavenly Jerusalem, you will find that it match all details perfectly. That’s why we say it seems mainly “Seventy Weeks” is for building “New Jerusalem”, for only Jesus is the King of kings ruling in New Jerusalem forever and ever, “to bring in everlasting righteousness“, “to put an end to sin“… Therefore,
Assumption : From outgoing of God’s word in BC 522, the holy city “New Jerusalem” on heaven began “to restore and build” in “Seven Weeks” period first. Then for sixty-two Weeks period, “New Jerusalem” shall be built again with squares and moat” total sixty-nine Weeks, then the “physical” New Jerusalem in heaven has rebuilt complete.
AD30 the anointed one(Jesus) appeared – “69@7” ended and “1@7” began – core of the New Jerusalem – building of the Lamb and the Bride(144000) beganning.
The Lamb was killed in AD 33, the first “3.5” was complete. AD 70 the earthly Jerusalem destroyed marks as the half of “1@7”.
The final “3.5” began at AD 70 till to the End Day, 144000 saints are being sealed. When the last saint is sealed, the final “3.5” of One Week is complete, then rebuild the holy city New Jerusalem is completed and successfully! After that, the New Jerusalem will come down from the heaven…
So it seems this vision has 2 meanings, one is the earthly Jerusalem, another is the heavenly Jerusalem(New Jerusalem). For day and night only happens on earth not heaven, there is no day or night in heaven, that’s why “7” is not the strictly limited time, so we say it must be the symbolic period.
Why the heavenly city is called “New” Jerusalem? Isn’t it tells us it is the rebuilt city? Yes, just like there was an old city being destroyed and then rebuild the new one. After finished the rebuilding, there will be a new name to distinguish the old one, generally its’ name will add a “new …” base on the old city name. So that’s why God calls it “New” Jerusalem, that is what its new name means – it is a new, rebuild city (rebuild from earthly Jerusalem), just as God announced at first.
Yes, only New Jerusalem could achieved those 6 goals… New Jerusalem will last forever and ever!
- to finish the transgression
- to put an end to sin
- and to atone for iniquity
- to bring in everlasting righteousness
- to seal both vision and prophet
- and to anoint a most holy place
If “Seventy Weeks” really means the rebuild of heavenly New Jerusalem, why didn’t God say directly “Seventy Weeks” is for building the heavenly Jerusalem? Why did God also say the earthly Jerusalem has to rebuild? Isn’t it confusing us? Yes, it’s really confusing us. But why? Maybe that is the method of God using to hide His “word”.
Another reason is God wants to show us the progress of building New Jerusalem in heaven. How? For we can’t see what’s happening in heaven. How to let God’s people understanding what is happening in heaven? Maybe one of the main functions of rebuilding earthly Jerusalem is also let us understanding what the building is progressing in heaven, for the earthly Jerusalem is the shadow of heaven, when the heavenly move the shadow will move, then we could understanding the building progress of heavenly Jerusalem.
Interesting about “Seventy Weeks”
Swift Flight
An interesting question, why did angel Gabriel come in swift flight while Daniel was praying? Why not wait for the next day after his prayer, or next month, to “tell him” Seventy Weeks’ vision? It seems very rush, and there is no other instance like this in the Bible.
Please imagine when do you running rush? One situation is : you have to arrive hurry at a appointed time, like before the flight has to take off(start). So that’s why angel Gabriel need to come in flight swift, because this vision starts now, God’s word has come out and the “Seventy Weeks” has to start now… So Gabriel need to flight swift to tell Daniel.
Another interesting is rebuilding Jerusalem(God’s living place) is really a great project, how come the decreed(“word”) would come from Gentile king? Does the Most High need a gentile king to approve His project? It doesn’t make sense, right? But if the decreed(word) come from God himself, then will be right and appropriate.
A strong “Covenant”
He(Jesus) shall make a strong covenant with many for “One Week”, what is “strong covenant”?
he(Jesus) said to them, “I must preach the good news of the “kingdom of God” to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this ‘purpose’.” – Luke 4:43
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the “new covenant” in my blood” – Luke 22:20
So this strong covenant is “the new covenant” of God’s kingdom, and Jesus was sent for this purpose. Who did Jesus make covenant with in “1@7” symbolized period? He made covenant with many including apostles. This “covenant” is…
“and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” – Luke 22:29,30
The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. – Revelation 3:21
Yes, this is a strong and great covenant for those be the kings and sit next to Jesus and God. They are called the holy people of Jerusalem. How many holy people Jesus made covenant with? Revelation 7:4 says “And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel”.
Therefore Jesus make “(New) covenant with many” effective period is from AD33 till to the End Day(for One Week), until the last one of 144000 saints is sealed. That is to say when Jesus seals new covenant with the last one, then the “New Covenant” is sealed(signed) and complete.
Holy people -saints
Where do the holy people(saints) come from?
“And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth” – Revelation 12:1,2
Yes, the holy people are born of the heavenly woman, they are God’s sons. This woman had a very long pregnancy and delivery period, Revelation12:6,14 says “and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days. 14 …she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time“.
Holy people are born of the heavenly woman during the final symbolized “1260 days” period. The pregnancy and delivery began from AD 70 till to the End Day, about 2000 years now. How many holy people? Revelation tells us they are the rest of woman’s offspring, they keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. They are also whom Jesus make a “strong covenant” with, the covenant of Kingdom of God.
Forty-Two months
John gives us another proof as corroboration to prove that the final half of “one Week” started from AD 70.
“but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months” – Revelation 11:2
When did the Jerusalem being trampled? It happened in AD 70, forty-two months equal to 3.5 years, it is also symbolic the final half of “One Week” period. So the forty-two months symbolized period was also started from AD 70 till to the End Day. Therefore “a time, times, and half a time”, “forty-two months” are also the final half(3.5) of “One Week” symbolized period.
The Prince
“…from the going out of the word… to the coming of an anointed one, a “prince”… 26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one(Prince) shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the “prince” who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. 27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many…” – Daniel 9:25-27
Who is the “prince”? Someone believe he is the anti-Christ, but if we read deeply we can see the prince is the anointed one, he shall be cut off, the prince who is to come, shall destroy the city(earthly Jerusalem). Who is the anointed one?
Yes Jesus Christ, the Prince is Jesus. For Jesus is the Messiah(anointed one), he shall be cut off. After that, Prince – “who is to come”, means Jesus is to come at the End Day. And “Prince” – Jesus allow earthly Jerusalem and the sanctuary to be destroyed.
We heard him(Jesus) say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’ – Mark 14:58
Therefore it’s clear to tell us the “Prince” is Lord Jesus, he will destroy the earthly Jerusalem and the temple, and he will build an new one not made with hands – New Jerusalem.
End of Seventy Weeks – “Flood” and “War”
“…Its end(the end of Seventy Weeks) shall come with a “flood”, and to the end there shall be “war”. “Desolations” are decreed. 27 …until the decreed end is “poured out” on the desolator.” – Daniel 9:26,27
What does it mean of “flood” and “war”? What does it mean of “its end”?
“its end” means the end of “Seventy-Weeks”, it is also the End Day, it shall come with a flood. What does it mean?
“37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.39 … until the “flood” came and swept them all away, so “will be” the coming of the Son of Man(Jesus)” – Matthew 24:37,39
Jesus said there will be flooding worldwide like the days of Noah when he is coming. Not only floods happen, but also shall be “war” till to the end. When the flood happens worldwide with war, that means both of them will be lasting to the End Day, it will be the “sign” of the end of “Seventy Weeks”, it will be the “sign” of finishing sealing Saints, and also the “sign” of the End Day.
It seems it is happening now, for the flood is happening world wide, and this magnitude has never occurred after Noah’s day, also there is war happening and makes the land “desolations”, such as Russo-Ukrainian war, Israeli-Hamas… Bible says flood and war won’t stop until the decreed is poured out on the desolator. This “sign” sounds “loudly” like a trumpet, telling us Jesus is coming, and he is coming back soon! Can you hear and see that?
We see that the “sign” has occurred, Matthew 24:16 Jesus said, “then let those… flee to the mountains”. Jesus warned us to move our home to the higher place in this trouble time, don’t live in the lower place that the flood may destroy your home. We are here to call on everyone to heed the advice of Jesus Christ, then your life will be saved.
Makes “Seventy Weeks” decreed end is “poured out” on the desolator. What does it mean? It means the bowl of God’s wrath, and it will pour out on the desolator(the beast). Revelation 16:10 “The fifth angel “poured out” his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness.”
Why half “3.5”?
There is an interesting question, why did God divid “One Week” into half(3.5) and half(3.5)? Why not God define it to 1/144000, 1/12, 1/10, 1/7, 1/4 or 1/3 but half “3.5”?
Because Revelation 21:9,10 says, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the “wife” of the Lamb. 10 And he… showed me “the holy city Jerusalem” coming down out of heaven from God”.
“…hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ 6 So they are no longer two but “one flesh”…” – Matthew 19:5,6
“ “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it “refers” to Christ and the church(New Jerusalem).” – Ephesians 5:31,32
Because the Heavenly Kingdom is formed by 2 parts, Jesus(symbolic husband) and New Jerusalem(symbolic wife – 144000). So when Jesus finished “3.5” ministry and sacrificed, it means half of Heavenly Kingdom has completed. And when the last of 144000 is sealed, another half of Heavenly Kingdom is complete too, then the establishment of Heavenly Kingdom will be complete.
This “half” does not mean half of “time”, but the half of “progress” or “goal” because it’s a symbolic period. God shows us the key points that are accomplishing His will in “Seventy Weeks” , in the future we will know the actual end date in “Seventy Weeks” timeline.
Another interesting question is why this vision is so complicated and confusing?
Because that mystery is God’s deliberate arrangement, for partial fulfilled but partial not fulfilled to hidden the vision until the end time. Jehovah God separated it with different parts with different format into different Bible books, hidden it like a puzzle. God wants this mystery like this : “Daniel, for the “words” are shut up and sealed until the time of the end“. So that’s why this vision is so difficult to understand, but actually the vision itself is very simple.
For the truth shall reveal at the end time only, so we should expect some truths must different from what we have learned or understood. Now God reveals and shows us this vision’s meaning. That means God tells us we are now standing at the end time edge. So may we all ask heavenly Father to forgive our sins, and we should repent, turn evil to good now. May we all hold testimony and help others to be goodness, just like what Jesus did and taught us.

Our Heavenly Father, you are God Almighty and the only true God who reveals the hidden mystery. May we all give the Praise, Honor, Thankful to you and Jesus Christ. Amen.
“O YHWH, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules”, please forgive us. Jehovah our God is full of mercy and willing to forgive, so please forgive our sins through Jesus ransom.
We are excited for waiting the “Seventy Weeks” to be fulfilled completely, waiting the salvation, waiting the last one of 144000 saints to be sealed. Thanks Father, and thanks Jesus too, save all sinners including us. We don’t know how to express our love and thankful to you, that the all grace is come from you. What we can do is listen and obey your commandments, that’s the best way what we can do. our Heavenly Father, may your name be hallowed, may your Kingdom come, may Seventy Weeks complete, may the New Jerusalem come Your Kingdom come. Amen.
